Autumn Skincare & Wellness/Skin Rejuvenation Stokesley

Your guide to healthy skin & seasonal wellbeing

As the golden days of summer fade and we reach for cosy jumpers, warming drinks and slower evenings, autumn brings the perfect opportunity to give ourselves a little extra care.

At Inner Glow Collective, we believe healthy, glowing skin begins with a combination of good skincare, nourishing food, movement and making time for yourself. And with party season just around the corner, there’s no better time to start!

Whether you’re looking to improve the appearance of summer sun damage, revive dull skin, support your lymphatic system or simply embrace a few healthier habits, here are some lovely ways to feel your best this autumn.

1. Post-Summer Skin Recovery: Is Your Skin Showing Signs of Sun Damage?

We all love a little summer sunshine, but even with the best intentions, UV exposure can leave its mark. As a summer tan fades, you may notice:

  • Dark spots, pigmentation and uneven skin tone
  • Fine lines and changes in skin texture
  • Dehydration and dullness
  • Redness and visible thread veins
  • A loss of firmness and radiance

IPL Skin Rejuvenation: Your Autumn Skin Reset

At Inner Glow Collective, our Venus Versa IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatments target selected visible signs of sun damage, including pigmentation, age spots and certain superficial vascular concerns. Controlled pulses of light target pigment and vascular changes, helping create a clearer, more even-looking complexion.

Many clients benefit from a course of treatments, depending on their concerns and goals. Because IPL requires careful sun avoidance before and after treatment, cooler months can be a convenient time to begin.

Our advice: Book a professional skin assessment so we can establish the most appropriate treatment plan for your skin. IPL suitability depends on skin type, recent tanning, medical history and the nature of any pigmented lesions.

2. It’s Peel Season! Let’s Get That Party Glow Ready

With Christmas celebrations and festive gatherings approaching, now is the perfect time to give dull, tired-looking skin a little attention.

Meet Our CosMedix Blueberry Smoothie Metabolic Peel

One of our favourite ways to refresh the complexion is our beautiful CosMedix Blueberry Smoothie Metabolic Peel Facial. This gorgeous hands-on facial combines professional exfoliation with a wonderfully relaxing skincare experience.

Designed to lift away dull surface skin cells and improve the appearance of skin texture, it leaves the complexion looking smoother, fresher and beautifully radiant. Think of it as a seasonal skin refresh, with relaxation thrown in for good measure.

It’s particularly lovely for dull, lacklustre skin, uneven texture, a congested-looking complexion and skin in need of extra radiance. Great results are about consistency rather than quick fixes, so we’ll always recommend a personalised approach.

Our top tip: Book ahead of important festive events rather than immediately before, especially if you’re sensitive or new to professional exfoliation.

3. Autumn Wellness: Supporting Your Lymphatic System

Our lymphatic system is one of the body’s most important yet often overlooked systems. Working alongside our immune and circulatory systems, it helps maintain fluid balance, transport immune cells and return excess tissue fluid to the bloodstream.

Unlike our cardiovascular system, it doesn’t have a central pump like the heart. Lymph movement is supported by muscle contractions, breathing and natural body movement.

Introducing Manual Lymphatic Drainage at IGC

We’re delighted to have introduced Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) to our wellness menu. MLD is a beautifully gentle, rhythmic treatment designed to encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid. Unlike traditional massage, it uses light, precise movements rather than deep pressure.

Clients often describe feeling wonderfully relaxed afterwards, and some have reported improved sleep and a sense of calm. MLD can also help manage certain types of swelling and fluid retention when clinically appropriate.

What about immunity? Our lymphatic system plays an essential role in immune function, but MLD has not been proven to prevent colds or flu or directly boost immunity. We see it as part of a wider wellbeing approach alongside movement, sleep, balanced nutrition and stress management.

If you’re craving restorative me-time, it can be a lovely addition to your autumn self-care routine.

4. Nourish Your Glow: Winter Warmer Salmon & Ginger Prawn Salad

Who says salads are just for summer? Swap cold summer salads for warm, colourful bowls packed with seasonal vegetables, quality protein and nourishing ingredients.

Ingredients | Serves 2

  • 2 salmon fillets; 150g cooked, peeled king prawns
  • 2 generous handfuls kale or spinach; 1 small head broccoli
  • 1 red pepper, sliced; 1 small sweet potato, cubed
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger; 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil; juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds; optional fresh chilli and coriander

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Toss sweet potato in a little olive oil and roast for around 20–25 minutes until tender.
  2. Cook salmon on a separate tray until fully cooked through, usually around 12–15 minutes depending on thickness.
  3. Lightly steam broccoli and wilt kale or spinach.
  4. Gently warm the cooked king prawns with ginger, garlic and a little olive oil until piping hot.
  5. Arrange vegetables in bowls, add salmon and prawns, and finish with lemon juice, sesame seeds and herbs.

Why we love it: Salmon provides omega-3 fatty acids, colourful vegetables provide vitamin C and other antioxidants, and protein supplies amino acids needed for tissue maintenance and repair. Nourishing, satisfying and delicious.

5. Your Cosy Autumn Ritual: Golden Turmeric & Ginger Latte

There’s something wonderful about slowing down on a chilly evening, lighting a candle and enjoying a warm drink. This comforting golden latte is one of our favourites.

Ingredients | Serves 1

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric or a little freshly grated turmeric
  • 1 tsp peeled, freshly grated ginger
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Manuka honey

Method

  • Gently warm almond milk in a small saucepan.
  • Add turmeric, grated ginger and cinnamon; stir gently for 3–5 minutes without boiling.
  • Allow to cool slightly, stir in Manuka honey and pour into your favourite mug.

A little wellness wisdom: Turmeric and ginger contain naturally occurring plant compounds being studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. There isn’t good clinical evidence that a turmeric latte directly increases lymphatic drainage or prevents seasonal illness. For us, the beauty is in the ritual: ten minutes to slow down, unwind and enjoy something nourishing.

6. Five Simple Autumn Habits for Healthy Skin & Wellbeing

  • Keep moving. Daily walks, stretching and regular movement support healthy circulation and lymphatic flow.
  • Stay hydrated. It’s easy to drink less water when temperatures drop, but hydration remains important.
  • Prioritise sleep. Aim for a consistent bedtime routine and sufficient quality sleep.
  • Nourish your skin from within. Include colourful vegetables, protein, healthy fats and fibre-rich foods.
  • Update your skincare routine. Cooler weather and central heating can contribute to dryness. Consider richer moisturisers where appropriate, gentle cleansing and daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
